Blowout Cookies
Calling all chocolate peanut butter lovers!  You’re going to love these cookies.  They are loaded with chocolate chips, peanut butter cups, and honey roasted peanuts.
Blowout Cookies
Blowout cookies are loaded with chunky peanut butter, chocolate peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, and honey roasted peanuts.

Blowout Cookies
Imagine your favorite soft and chewy peanut butter cookies then load it with all this goodness.

To make these loaded cookies:

Unwrap and coarsely chop the peanut butter cups.  Place in a bowl and freeze until ready to use.
Remaining ingredients are:  butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips (semi-sweet), honey roasted peanuts and milk (not pictured).
Coarsely chop the peanuts and set aside.
Add the baking soda and salt to the flour.  Whisk together or sift.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, add the softened butter and chunky peanut butter.  Cream together.
Add the sugar and the brown sugar.  Mix until creamy.
Add the two eggs.  Beat for about 3 minutes until fluffy.
Add the flour mixture and mix well.
The batter will be very stiff.  That’s ok because we are going to lighten it up with 1/2 cup of milk.
Pour the milk over the dough and the vanilla and mix the dough until smooth.
Slowly mix in peanuts and chocolate chips.  The dough is loaded and we’re going to load it some more.
Gently fold in the frozen peanut butter cups.
I like to drop the cookies with my ice cream scoop.  It’s about 2 tablespoons of dough.
As usual I like to line my baking sheets with parchment paper.  Place in a 375 degree oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes.  Try not to over bake the cookies because they will be dry.
Remove from the oven when the cookies are golden brown around the edges.
Place on a cooling rack.

Optional chocolate drizzle

Melt 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips with 2 teaspoons coconut oil.  Drizzle over cooled cookies and top with more chopped honey roasted peanuts.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peanut butter chunky-style
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup honey-roasted peanuts chopped
  • 24 peanut butter cups coarsely chopped and frozen

Optional chocolate drizzle

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey roasted peanuts chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.  Set aside.
  3. Beat peanut butter and butter together until creamy.  Add the sugars and beat until light and smooth.  Then add the eggs and beat about 3 minutes.  Stir in the flour mixture and beat thoroughly.  Sprinkle the milk and vanilla over the mixture and beat to soften the dough.  fold in the chocolate chips and peanuts, then carefully add the chopped peanut butter cups.
  4. Drop in 2-tablespoon mounds onto an ungreased cookie sheet.   You should be able to fit about 12 cookies per baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until just golden brown around the edges.  Do not over bake or the cookies will be too dry.  Remove the cookies to a cooling rack.  Makes about 36 cookies.

Optional chocolate drizzle

  1. Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil.  Stir until smooth.  Drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle with chopped honey roasted peanuts.

Recipe Notes

  • Do not over bake or the cookies will be too dry.  Remove the cookies to a cooling rack.
  • May sure the peanut butter cups are frozen or they will fall apart while mixing.
  • Great hot or cold.

Thanks for the recipe. I am going to make the cracked sugar cookies next. I have been searching for the perfect sugar cookies for my hub (who is not a chocolate or nut fan…sigh…but those are his only faults…so I can't complain too much). I think those cracked sugar cookies will blow his mouth off 🙂

Lol! My son-in-law said the same thing. Hey what ever gets your attention. I actually found the recipe in a southern cookbook years ago, and that is what they are called because of how loaded they are. They even had a "blow-out" ice cream. Good luck with those "blow-outs".

Found your blog via Pinterest. When I ran across this recipe I just had to laugh because I'm a mother of small children right now and the title of the cookies just makes me giggle. "Blowout cookies" huh? At first I thought maybe they were prank cookies that you would sneak laxative into or something. Good thing they are just regular delicious looking cookies!
